Empress Youth Theatre (EYT) is a 3-week summer program open to children ages 6 – 18 to gain theatrical education and perform in a production. The goal of EYT is to provide an experience that both teaches new skills and prepares young performers for participation in future theatrical endeavors. This is achieved through daily theatrical workshops on a variety of topics (in previous years, workshops have included stage combat, aerial arts, special effects makeup, and more) as well as auditioning for and rehearsing for a production. At the culmination of the program, students present a high quality performance for audiences.
Empress Youth Theatre enrollment opens April 1st annually. Enrollment typically fills up fast, as spaces are limited to 50 students. Enrollment closes when spots fill up, or at a deadline set by the production team, whichever occurs first.
To register for this year's EYT program, please go here.

There are two types of EYT enrollment:
Half Day enrollment (Monday – Friday 8:45 AM – 12:30 PM) is open to:
Students ages 6 – 11
Students ages 12 - 18 who would like a smaller summer obligation. Students ages 12 - 18 who have 4 or more program conflicts must register as half day students
Full Day enrollment (Monday – Friday 8:45 AM – 4:00 PM) is open to:
Students ages 12 - 18
Empress Youth Theatre is a big obligation for a student to take on. As such, we believe in informing all parents and guardians of the commitments.
Half Day enrollment is $175. Full day enrollment is $200. Tuition is due at the time of enrollment. These funds are utilized to provide students with a script, makeup items, costumes, sets, scenic design, props, and high quality workshops. All students also receive a show shirt. Students will be asked to provide a base modesty layer, certain makeup items, and shoes appropriate for the show.
A limited number of program scholarships applications are available each year. The Empress Theatre never wishes for financial needs to preclude students from theatrical experiences.
Students are expected to invest their time in the program as well. Due to the intensive nature of the program, availability is necessary. Students who will have more than 3 conflicts during the first two weeks of the program will not be permitted to participate without prior written permission from the program director and show director. Students who will have conflicts during the last week of the program, or during performances, may not be permitted to participate.
